How we operate
York Together is a constituted but unincorporated group.

What that means is that we have a constitution that sets our values, mission and objectives as a not-for-profit organisation, but we’re not a registered charity.

Many grassroot organisations make the decision not to incorporate themselves and we believe it allows York Together to maintain our independence and ability to engage with other changemakers challenging injustice.

York Together is fiscally hosted and supported by the Social Change Nest (or SCN).
SCN manage our financial transactions, employment contracts, and payroll, however they have no involvement in our strategy, decision-making, or day-to-day management of projects.

All the York Together team meet up once a month to discuss our progress and next steps. We all have different interests, skills and training, and we all take on different pieces of work as they appear.
